"Big deal" Another block of future oil for them to manipulate the market. OPEC = Organized extortion.

Exploration off the coast of California is underway from what I understand and if there is finally some kind of production in the offing, California really needs the revenue.

Some aviation enthusiasts with a real bad attitude on the astronomical cost of aviation fuel went to work and developed fuel the military, Virgin, and now Continental Airways is now testing. Seems it's made from algae. This is a new bio-fuel.
(More on this later)

An intrepid entrepreneur from Australia has developed a generator with a two cylinder Honda engine that runs on H2-O. This water powered motor that runs a generator is also under the radar for now. These kinds of developments can be very frustrating. No Youtube vids yet and no solid proof but, there is a lot of work being done on hydrogen power.

News is that Daniel Dingle, an inventor from Asia is reported to have recently sold his hydrogen powered car-to someone. There is a famous Youtube video of him driving it around with a news reporter. Maybe this "someone" can capitalize in this technology and stop all the cynicism. Most of the Hydroxy development today is bent towards gasoline enhancement of the engine. Not using water as the sole fuel.

We can't ignore these new developments any more. Scientists and academia refuse to accept the possibility of energy production beyond their hard set interpretations.
Laws that are not to be broken. The speed of light was thought to be 186,000 miles per hour. But, that law has been challenged and that law busted.

Fuel Prices Stabilizing?

It appears as the evidence grows and more light is being shed upon the last spike in oil prices, we can sum it up to Wall Street Greed and speculators. And yea, government is investigating it. "Big deal!"

They know there isn't a damned thing they can do about it even if there were some false speculation. Government let it happen. "Republicans as well as democrats are more interested in filling their coffers for re-election to maintain power than watching out for the folks".

Yep, own very own US Yankee "Government without a clue" provided the environment through efforts of the famed Enron Corp. Those who think government is not bought and paid for by the big companies or deep pockets might want to study a little more.

The laws regarding the oil market need to be overhauled back to pre-Enron legislation.

The way oil prices are controlled now leave absolutely no stability. How can major transportation, manufacturing, and regular folks plan a budget on such shifting sands?

Government will spell the end of freedom and our economy as we know it unless we fix it. We are at the mercy of Wall Street and their shareholders who spend money to influence government. Those of us out there working every day are at the bottom of the food chain and are getting stepped on by government and Wall Street.

One needs to look no further than the mess we have now.

As for alternative fuels, we need to find something renewable that will not raise food prices and cost less than a barrel of oil to produce. It has to be market viable. Anything that is not market viable is subsidized. And anything that is subsidized is paid for by the taxpayer. Not a market winner.

If you build a better mouse trap, you will succeed. If you can't, subsidize a senator or congressmen, and then you will.

Fuel Prices Dropping Like A Comet

"Who knew?" Well, there a number of folks that said and always maintained that the recent oil price spike was artificial. And it was.

"Speculators".

The new dirty word in our lexicon. And well earned. This last summer I actually had to pull money form savings (such as it was) to pay fuel and power increases. Anyone on a tight budget knows what I am talking about.

I saw E-85 today at $1.35. Diesel is down to $2.69 in some spots but not nearly where it needs to be. Much less than gasoline where I paid $1.59 a gallon today.

Where are all these dropping fuel prices taking Biodiesel? Out the window I fear.

We need to keep up the research and development of Biodiesel because sure as rain it will spike again.

60 minutes did a spread this evening about Saudi oil. The head of Aramco said their cost of production of a single barrel of oil is $2.00!

The reason they say it needs to be above $50.00 a barrel is so they can pay for their infrastructure. They have no other industry. So clearly, their product is not market driven. They do not know what the meaning of competition is.

We need to give it to them. Competition that is. "But then, here comes Uncle Sam and the States!" People aren't driving as much, so tax revenue is down and we need to consider raising gas taxes.

OK, so government officials tell us to conserve and we do. Buy more fuel efficient cars and car pool and we do. Demand drops and now they are crying because tax revenue is down and government needs more money for roads and bridges.

Does anyone feel like me? Does anyone want to plant a solid punch in the kisser of the next Senator or Congressman that proposes a tax hike on anything?

Are there Real Renewable Energy Solutions?

OK, more on making your own power. I watched a video the other day where a backyard inventor nearly blew up his garage building a hydrogen production device. "Did you know your car has an electrolizer?"

Yep, but why did this guy make hydrogen when you can build solar cells and wind generators? Well, the hydrogen was going to be used for cooking, heating, and electrical production from a single source. Some escaping gas caught a spark and "kablam!" Time to start over. But, there are easier ways. Check out this site.

Biodiesel Grease Car is looking at wind generation, solar cells, and deep cycle batteries at this new Green Energy site. Did you know you can build solar cells?

As for Biodiesel, it's in a bit of trouble. Fuel prices are dropping to below 2005 levels and is becoming price sensitive.

By the way, your cars battery makes hydrogen all the time your engine is running. The lead plates in your battery being energized by your cars alternator produces hydrogen. Those stickers warning about keeping your battery away from spark or open flame is there for a reason.

I know this, I blew one up before!

Fuel Price Nose Dive

Oil jumped back up to just above $54.00 a barrel today and "I can't believe I am really saying that". And as we savor fuel prices dropping from highs in the lower $140.00 per barrel range there are other fuel industries that are now taking a hit. As gasoline drifts below two bucks a gallon and diesel well below three bucks a gallon bio fuels are less of a press item.

BioFuels

Bio diesel and ethanol producers are seeing lackluster demand with many producers failing. Brazil who was the ethanol darling of the worlds ethanol producers are having a hard time right now making ethanol a profitable venture.

This is the perfect example as to why it is so difficult for inventors and alternative fuels industry to get production rolling. If some backyard inventor builds the 100 mpg carb and gets it into the market, the market can be manipulated to the point to where it is felt unnecessary. Same thing with bio fuels. Big producers can flood the market with cheap oil even for a short time to drive interest in new products out the window.

The Fox Guarding The Hen House

As the price of a barrel of oil dips into a downward trend, despite OPEC cutting production by 1.5 million barrels, this tells us one thing for sure, "Supply Wasn't The Dammed Problem!."

The speculators who leveraged their positions (borrowed money to buy oil futures) and drove prices skyward milking every 'teensy-weency" rumor or hurricane into a false story to conjure up reasons for higher prices, are now the dead and dying!

We should never again be believe these Wall Street fools who made so many of us poorer when we all had to fork over food, rent money, any and all savings in many cases just to get to work. Uncle Sam failed us again. Any more it's more like the fox guarding the hen house.

Again and again these "Washington nitwits" didn't listen to the general public. They didn't listen to or read the truth about what was really happening and I tend to think that high oil prices are exactly what many in Congress wanted. So there was a lack of resolve regarding these issues. All they wanted to do was anything but their job and blame everyone else. There is absolutely "no accountability" on Capital Hill and no excuse for not acting quickly and effectively to stop these astronomical prices.

If you haven't read Ed Wallace columns you should. You can find him at Inside Automotive dot com. Others during this last oil crisis went about shaking their heads in total amazed disgust at the lies driving up the price of a barrel of oil. They were asking questions like, "why are so many tankers anchored in the gulf"? If there were a real supply problem the reverse would be true.

Basic fundamentals were overlooked and information the government used was dead wrong. Even President bush said we were "addicted to oil". What rubbish. And, that statement is dead wrong too. This Nation was built on our current transportation structure of having more roads and freeways than trains like Europe. Countries in Europe have always had to deal with a lack of natural resources and thus they built more rail and other modes of transportation. Their streets are narrower, cars are smaller, and their drives generally shorter.

So, this business about an oil addiction falls on deaf ears as far as I am concerned.

So what now? I saw gas at $2.09 this day and there are all indications it will fall below two bucks soon. Do we stop trying to develop ways to improve fuel economy? The answer is a resounding "NO".

First, we need to get the speculators, the ones still breathing, out of the market Two: we need to continue conservation
Three: we need to find more sources of oil domestically
Four: we need to continue development of other sources of fuel and methods of getting better fuel economy

Just my thoughts.

Is Oil Sliding Into "Real" Pricepoint ?

Oil (US) slid to $67.57 today then trickled upward which is still fairly good news to a cash strapped economy. But, we must guard against any euphoria or overindulgence in this market. The Russians are meeting today with the possibility of joining OPEC. The giant monopoly that swings oil prices to the whims of autocratic and irrational oil producing countries.

The Russians would fit right in I'm sad to say. After the fall of the Berlin wall, old guard communist leaders in the Russian government have been dicing up free market capitalism and freedom of expression for years. Bottom line, they were humiliated at the results of the cold war and will stop at nothing in an attempt to put the shine back on the Hammer and Cycle.

In my view the real price for a barrel of oil should stay well below the $50 dollar mark when you consider the actual cost of production. Particularly in the middle east, estimates of which I've seen are somewhere between $7 and $11 a barrel. Their oil infrastructure is in place and all that is required to raise their price is to turn the spigot. With the reduction in oil price shipping costs should drop as well. We'll see.

We have many enemies that drive up the price of fuel and our own lobby-led-leaders in government are number one in my view. Our government can't act like OPEC, that is, have a meeting, decide to cut production and wait for inventories to run down to force higher prices. As I have written before, OPEC does not have the teeth in our economy it once did. We have been slowly upping imports from more reliable sources and reducing our exposure, but it wouldn't take much as we've seen to set off another price hike bomb.

If we are going to counter this economic enemy we have to knock the teeth out of these cartels by developing new and better technology to slash oil use. We also need to produce more. Each day as I read technology papers and watch backyard engineering I am excited about the future. If we can get some of this simple hardware into our vehicles, OPEC and outside influences will not be an issue.

Here are some ideas and those that are working on them. Robert Krupa has developed a new spark plug design and is shopping for support to get it into the market. It's said to, well, you really need to read what is going on at his site. Robert isn't a backyard engineer either. He has the pedigree. It's just unfortunate that American Industry is so reluctant to at least put some of these ideas to test and let the market determine the results. A problem that plagues big business, is it sole is owned by the shareholder and CEO's aren't too keen on long lasting products which seems to be the case with Krupa.

Ozzie Freedom has been developing information that points to successful fuel
economy through hydrogen.

There are many directions one could go here and the uses of hydrogen can't be minimized. From cars, to trucks, to welding, to cutting steel with no pollution, we've seen hydrogen start to become a grass roots industry that is sweeping the nation.

Other developments are capacitor and generator improvements that are making electrical powered vehicles more practical. Magnet power and it's development is emerging with mind blowing possibilities. Just imagine having a magnet powered generator in your home or car that provides all the power you need without being hooked up to the grid or requiring recharging. A lot of personal struggle, testing, and toil is being expended by human motivation to put an end to the grip outside influence has on our daily lives.

All this could leave one wondering, "what if we didn't have to buy gasoline or diesel?", "Would we now have to pay for roads and bridges with a mileage tax like the truckers do?". My answer is a resounding "No". Give us the flat tax now.

Oil At $50.00 Maybe?

Can't say for sure but OPEC will be meeting at the end of this week to consider dropping production as much as 2 million barrels a day. Hugo Chavez is talking cuts too, but if he does we all know he is aiming at his own throat! Now I ask you, what would happen if all the utility companies throughout the US got together, had a meeting to decided to raise rates or cut power by a certain percentage?

This kind of market manipulation has been going on for years and is exactly why we need to produce our own energy. Most of these OPEC countries are Muslim states and they have an entirely different view about business. Further, my understanding is most have broken every trade agreement established so they cannot be trusted in any regard.

We absolutely have to get on the ball about our energy independence. OPEC has less influence than in the past as more and more oil is being found and thrust into the market. We can start easily by conservation and that is only natural. That is exactly why oil prices have dropped. But, we must include that drop in prices to recent developments that will allow more drilling too.

Personally, I have no faith or trust in our government. We Americans as must rely upon ourselves to render the actions of outside forces useless, in influencing our lives and checkbook. Recent news about Wall Street fat cats receiving golden parachutes has raised the ire of almost all Americans. But just take a look at the extravagance Saudi and other oil families bathe in as their peasant population eats dirt and that should really make one furious.

No, we cannot afford to be at the at the receiving end of such irrational oil pricing influence. Depending on OPEC stability is like trying to build a home in the surf at low tide. With no stability there is no trust. A business cannot easily function without some hard and steadfast numbers. But when speculators, shareholders, and far too agreeable oil producers participate in the feeding frenzy that nearly broke us, it has become time to rid us of their greedy influence. I am very angry at this last and arguably, unnecessary spike in oil. So, I am doing something about it. Please consider the same.

One idea would be to build larger oil storage capacity so in the event of a shortage we could draw on the storage cushion. We also could use more refineries. Also in this mix we can and should use our own backyard talent building our own power systems where possible. That is where it should be! Each home in America should come equipped with it's very own stand alone power plant! No more power lines, poles, transformers and the like would sure go a long way in cleaning up the landscape.

There are mixes of solar, battery, wind, and magnetic devices that are available and if constructed properly can reduce your home's power considerably. These units are quickly becoming more and more attractive. Some can even sever the tie from the local utility while others get paid from the local utility. This would be a long term goal but I really believe it is possible. We need to start now.

Oil Futures Down To $71.85 But What Next?

As oil prices drop don't forget how fast they shot up. Environmental activists, tin horn dictators, middle east unrest, unstable governments, terrorists and irrational behavior all can drive fuel prices up in a New York minute. Although not in the same category, I would consider oil speculators who yell "fire" in the petroleum futures market a economic terrorists. If you have been keeping up with the fundamentals regarding the nature of supply and demand, isn't it funny that full oil tankers remained parked with no place to go as oil touched $140 a barrel. Yea, about 100 of them, perhaps more.

When things start to go south you need to look at the shipping industry and how it relates to the economy. When shipping slows or stops that means demand is down. So at the sharp rise in oil prices demand dwindled and tankers were parked. But, you didn't hear that from regular media outlets. Those outlets that report only the blood and misery but are far too lazy to do their leg work to find the truth.

In the meantime we are on to this volatile fuel market. We are looking for solutions to solve our own personal fuel crisis. These recent fuel prices I know have ravaged savings and shrunk wallets leaving us bewildered as if there is nothing we can do.

Well, let me tell you there is something you can do. In the future I plan to provide links, videos, product reviews and more about this subject. Let me tell you, I am fed up! Fed up with our unresponsive and out of touch government and their failure to do the right thing or take responsibility for their poor action or lack of.

Let's take a look at Hydrogen.

Oil Futures $74.54 Today

Oil prices continue to slip on the current slick global economic crisis. Just what no country needs now is higher fuel prices in a global economic depression. Stuff like this creates tensions that can easily develop into war if our past is any indicator.

It looks like oil exploration off the west coast may be a reality and news like this can do wonders for lowering fuel prices which could really invigorate this economy.

Through these gloomy economic conditions however, light is peering through the clouds. The US dollar has been riddled, trashed, burned, and sold short by traitors (not traders). This is now having a reversal in trade. The weak dollar is now making the US manufacturing platform cheaper than China!

Yep, with the increased costs of fuel combined with the weak dollar it appears manufacturing abroad is becoming less profitable. In my view we need to do some serious ass kicking in Washington to get corporate and small business taxes reduced.

That would open the floodgates to much stronger economy with more jobs created by the private sector. Lower taxes will give business more incentive to spend more on capital improvement and expansion. Is Congress listening?

We already know which one is not.

Fuel Prices Now

What a ride! Fuel prices are slipping dramatically as oil has dropped from a staggering $130 plus dollars a barrel a few months ago down to less than $80 today. The primary reason for this roller coaster ride is determined to be from market speculators.

Yep, the wall street Harvard and Yale geniuses were part of the build up to astronomical oil prices to fill their wallets and drive this economy into a downward frenzy. The American public is on to them now as we all have had to cut back on everything, thus all other markets began to slow down. As fuel prices rose all other markets slowed and prices rose. I do all the shopping in my house and it was clearly evident food prices rose. Goldman Sachs not too long ago squeeled that $200 a barrel oil was near and is now touting $40 a barrel is not too far away. Don't listen to Wall Street!

Gasoline is now below $3.00 a gallon and could drop down to the lower $2.00 range. Some even feel $50.00 a barrel is not far away as American fuel consumption fell to 10 year lows. OPEC is considering cutting production to boost prices when a few months ago they were asked to increase production to lower prices.

President Bush released drilling options on thousands of potential drilling sites and Congress allowed the off shore drilling ban to expire. These two acts alone were enough to drive oil prices down and as production rises here in the US oil prices will continue to drop. I think oil will fall to between $40 and $50 a barrel. This will be a boon to American industry if we can get this economy moving again.

Ethanol plants and public resistance to it are growing as some ethanol producers are finding it harder to turn a profit. They would not profit at all if it were not for tax payer subsidies. Bio diesel is still an option as diesel is still far too expensive and the excuses for the high price there is beginning to fail.

Fuel Continues To Climb

The agony of high diesel prices are now making itself evident in our everyday lives. As we do our everyday shopping these shipping prices are showing up.

As the dollar continues its' downward slope it makes raw oil much more expensive and costs all of us.

The effects of our geniuses in Congress is one of the major causes. Also, there is some food rationing going on. Yep, here in the abundant USA. Some grains are actually being rationed!

Anyone who still thinks bio fuel from food stocks is a good thing might want to reconsider that position. There are many other sources of bio fuel and some other very interesting developments are cropping up.

High Diesel Prices = Truckers Strike

Wow, for a crude type of fuel, diesel prices are "insane". So bad at over $4.00 a gallon in many places today, a lot of independent truckers are contemplating a strike. Imagine thousands of truckers parking their trucks on bridges and intersections causing gridlock in unimaginable proportions.

Here's the true story about our fuel crisis. There is no crisis. Basically, it boils down to feckless and very stupid government. This country has reserves of of oil that would make Saudi Arabia blush. These reserves have not been tapped and new drilling tech allows access to these reserves.

These leases on government (public property) are leased to oil companies and they produce the the fuels we need. But, it doesn't stay here, it goes to the "open" market. That same volatile market that that increases with the slightest hint of a turkey buzzard landing on a pipeline!

"This, is nuts". I have never seen anything more fragile. If our fuel supply is that fragile it needs to taken off the open market, give the taxpayers a way to enjoy their own natural resources.

Biodiesel From Algae?

Yep, and I think with the progress that hydrogen is making there will soon be better alternatives to $3.00 + per gallon diesel. This company produces equipment that can extract biodiesel from a super fast growing algae that you can grow yourself. You can find them at this link,
http://liquidgoldllc.com/

As greedy oil speculators and producers gouge their customers, I see tragedy in their near future! Entreprenures from all over the world, paarticularly the US, Canada, Australia and Europe are driving hard to solve our energy problems. And, it is going to be too late for that industry to lower prices to drive out new resources as the sheer volume of new invention pops up every day. This happened in the early 1980s. New products and solutions began to pop up
from across the globe and when oil prices went back down to about the lower teens in dollars the innovation seemed to dry up. Not this time however. Entreprenures are wise to this tactic and the oil industry is looking at devastation.

Every time oil prices rise the consuming public takes a pay cut. All products are increasing in price for production and and transportation. We will not take it anymore.

Diesel Fuel Prices, yikes

"Lookout" higher fuel prices mean more opportunities for bio diesel producers. Again diesel and all fuel prices are soaring above $3.00 and it will soon strangle our economy. I hate to say it but there ain't enough corn in this country to to save us.
We're going to need a different crop and that includes our government.

A short time ago when fuel prices took a jump Congress and the Senate were all over the oil companies and crying about their record profits from the astronomical prices. Now, you hear nothing. I think part of this is due to the fact that this is a boom to government coffers. So why complain?

Speculators are are the driving force behind these insane prices. They will soon be in serious trouble.

Yankee engineering and back yard inventors are resurrecting and improving ideas of the past and building new systems like the spinning compressor that produces hot water and make more energy than it consumes. How about a solid state generator? Now this isn't as crazy as it sounds. It used to be you needed a spinning gyro for flight navigation systems including the sophisticated and very expensive nav systems placed in military and commercial flight directors.

Now, thanks to the advent of solid state accelerometer's and GPS devices gyros will soon become relic of the past. These devices may soon replace air driven indicators and flight information.

Others are developing ideas and plans that are very exciting. There are rare earth magnet generators that are very powerful and require very little power to produce enough power to run your house. One experiment of note is a generator that spun itself to destruction as it's engineers couldn't stop it. Still others are building these generators to run cars. So, why are these not all over the news? Well, some are, but major corporations are reluctant to buy some of this new technology they think is perpetual motion and you cannot patent a perpetual motion machine. Not patent no investment. The new catch phrase is "over unity".

But, you can buy plans and build some of this stuff yourself. Some even have kits but these are not for the average homeowner. However, scientists seem to be reinvigorated to some extent.
There are some absolutely fascinating ideas, experiments, and testing going on right now.

Diesel Prices and a time out

It has been a while since I updated this blog. The reason was corporate politics, rules and other pure garbage. Not to mention a bruised ego here and there.

You see, the company I worked for was, and is a large transportation services company. My division did NO advertising of its' services. That's right, no advertising or promotion at all. Just me, an old outdated list of trucking companies and a telephone. A recipe for disaster.

What I pushed for during my 3 year tenure was an Ezine, SEO work, Blogs, Email List Marketing, Writing Articles, Internet Marketing in general. All the advertising I wanted to do would cost virtually nothing. I wanted to sell books on Trucking Regulations and other Public Domain information that was needed in the industry. I wanted to list Bio diesol stations for those looking for the product on our up to recently, unseen website.

I wanted to do free classified marketing which again fell on deaf ears. So, to prove my point since we had no, and I mean NO organic visible link in Google, I put together this blog. First, there is a need for Bio diesel information and second to prove a point. Within about a 6 week period my little blog rose to position #7 in Fuel Tax blogs.

I exposed my blog and began pushing for some free advertising. The answer was no. All advertising had to go through or with the permission and leadership of their contracted advertising agency. That answered my question, but not my quest to get free advertising.
So, they fired me.

We needed an ever running stream of potential customers calling or writing asking about our services. Not the other way around. One dude calling and writing to see if this or that company wanted or needed our services. How stupid can that be.

In any case, the highest rates for standard diesel seem to be in Wyoming and Utah pushing $3.50 a gallon and the cheapest in MO at a fraction under $2.999. You would think Bio diesel might run a little cheaper but I didn't see any today.

Biodiesel Grease Car?

You cannot run straight vegetable oil in your diesel powered vehicle for many reasons. Biodiesel producers listed there can assure a quality product. Home made Biodiesel can have a volitile flashpoint. It may not have been tested or properly cleaned. You do not want your engine to become a lab experiment. Other considerations are components like seals, ports, and other contact points inside your engine. Look for producers who fall under the BQ-9000 Biodiesel Quality Program. The National Diesel Board rates these producers and approves their certification.

Pure Biodiesel is referred to as B100 or "neat" Biodiesel. Blends of Biodiesel and petro-chemical diesel are known as Bxx. The xx is the percentage of Biodiesel product to petro-diesel. Or, B20 means 20% Biodiesel blended into regular diesel. You will learn more on Biodiesel by simply clicking here. http://tinyurl.com/p9gqw

I just returned from a truck show in Toronto, and wanted to see information on Biodiesel. There are some commercial producers but not hardly enough. Not as much information as I expected to see on Biodiesel. You can find a lot of information here at http://tinyurl.com/p9gqw. You can learn a lot about Biodiesel. Pros and cons of Biodiesel. Environmental benefits. The basic properties of Biodiesel. Energy, performance and efficiency. How to safely use Biodiesel. OME warranties and use. Biodiesel compatible engines and where to buy Biodiesel.

We were hauling some horses to Regina Canada a few years back, we fueled up at a station in Nebraska. My first experience with Biodiesel was interesting. As trucks pulled in and out the truckstop, the exhaust smelled like burned burnt peanuts. Even though it was a blend, it really didn't smell all that bad. At that time, we weren't even considering what the effect Biodiesel may have had on our equipment. We never even considered OME Biodiesel requirements. We just assumed all would be OK. Well, it was. The big turbocharged Powerstroke droned along like normal.

I also noticed a couple hydrogen producing systems at the show that say you can save as much as 20% on diesel fuel. I think if it is possible to blend or make Biodiesel, then add some of these new technologies, we can beat these high fuel cost problems.

I am in the transportation industry and talk to truckers and trucking companies all day. Diesel fuel prices are all consuming these days with no end in sight. I can't seem to figure out why gasoline used to be high and diesel fuel was always less expensive because the refining process was less. I can vouch for that because if you were raised on a farm as I was, and spent any time at all cleaning the fuel system in a diesel tractor, you know all about all the silt that settles in the settling bowl. For all intents and purposes it is mud.

We just need to spool up making good clean home made Biodiesel. More soon.

Home-made Biodiesel

Before considering the biodiesel manufacturing process, there are few things that you should consider. "Safety first," and others have to do with any plans you may have about selling biodiesel fuel.

"First," burning biodiesel in your vehicle's engine may or may not void your vehicle warranty. READ your OME warranty to help make a wise decision. Selling home made biodiesel can really open up a can of worms if fuel you sold, or gave away trashes the fuel system or engine. Just call and ask a local parts dealer for the price of a single diesel fuel injector. It's also illegal to sell biodiesel that is not "fuel grade".

"Second", the biodiesel home making process can be a time consuming, labor intensive process so set aside week for your homemade diesel production. Make test batches and experience a few failures, as biodiesel production not always an exact science. The success of the venture depends on quite a few factors such as the humidity of the air and the quality of the vegetable oil you are using. It also will depend on your skill as a chemist and some would say luck! Fuel you make should be tested to be sure that you manufactured a fuel grade product. Otherwise you could be risking damage to your diesel engine.

Making Biodiesel at home is not for children. Materials used to make biodiesel are very toxic, so be aware of this before making this a "kid's science project."

On the other hand, ordinary people from all over the world (especially farmers!) have been making biodiesel at home for over half a century. Many of the ingredients used in biodiesel are toxic, but they are also common household chemicals.

"Example", the lye that is used in most recipes is sold in supermarkets and hardware stores as a drain-cleaner. Methanol, is the main or only ingredient in barbecue fuel or fuel for fondue heat cannisters. Methanol is sold in supermarkets as "stove fuel" and used at the dinner table. It's safe if you're careful and sensible about the handling and mixing of the product.

On the positive side, Biodiesel fuel works well in any diesel engine without any conversion or modifications to the engine or the fuel system. It can be cheap too, as long as you use the percentage of biodiesel fuel to regular diesel fuel, that is recommended in your owner's manual.
