General Atomics from San Dieago Ca, has been awarded up to 43 million from DARPA to develop jet fuel for the Defense applications. Considering all the turmoil in the energy market this is a good idea that can roll into commercial applications should the cost of the fuel be viable.
If algae oil can be cost effective and reliable, production increased to acceptable levels, more uses will certainly be utilized.
This pilot program looks promising.
