Exploration off the coast of California is underway from what I understand and if there is finally some kind of production in the offing, California really needs the revenue.
Some aviation enthusiasts with a real bad attitude on the astronomical cost of aviation fuel went to work and developed fuel the military, Virgin, and now Continental Airways is now testing. Seems it's made from algae. This is a new bio-fuel.

An intrepid entrepreneur from Australia has developed a generator with a two cylinder Honda engine that runs on H2-O. This water powered motor that runs a generator is also under the radar for now. These kinds of developments can be very frustrating. No Youtube vids yet and no solid proof but, there is a lot of work being done on hydrogen power.
News is that Daniel Dingle, an inventor from Asia is reported to have recently sold his hydrogen powered car-to someone. There is a famous Youtube video of him driving it around with a news reporter. Maybe this "someone" can capitalize in this technology and stop all the cynicism. Most of the Hydroxy development today is bent towards gasoline enhancement of the engine. Not using water as the sole fuel.
We can't ignore these new developments any more. Scientists and academia refuse to accept the possibility of energy production beyond their hard set interpretations.
Laws that are not to be broken. The speed of light was thought to be 186,000 miles per hour. But, that law has been challenged and that law busted.
