Wow, for a crude type of fuel, diesel prices are "insane". So bad at over $4.00 a gallon in many places today, a lot of independent truckers are contemplating a strike. Imagine thousands of truckers parking their trucks on bridges and intersections causing gridlock in unimaginable proportions.
Here's the true story about our fuel crisis. There is no crisis. Basically, it boils down to feckless and very stupid government. This country has reserves of of oil that would make Saudi Arabia blush. These reserves have not been tapped and new drilling tech allows access to these reserves.
These leases on government (public property) are leased to oil companies and they produce the the fuels we need. But, it doesn't stay here, it goes to the "open" market. That same volatile market that that increases with the slightest hint of a turkey buzzard landing on a pipeline!
"This, is nuts". I have never seen anything more fragile. If our fuel supply is that fragile it needs to taken off the open market, give the taxpayers a way to enjoy their own natural resources.
