Oil jumped back up to just above $54.00 a barrel today and "I can't believe I am really saying that". And as we savor fuel prices dropping from highs in the lower $140.00 per barrel range there are other fuel industries that are now taking a hit. As gasoline drifts below two bucks a gallon and diesel well below three bucks a gallon bio fuels are less of a press item.
BioFuels
Bio diesel and ethanol producers are seeing lackluster demand with many producers failing. Brazil who was the ethanol darling of the worlds ethanol producers are having a hard time right now making ethanol a profitable venture.
This is the perfect example as to why it is so difficult for inventors and alternative fuels industry to get production rolling. If some backyard inventor builds the 100 mpg carb and gets it into the market, the market can be manipulated to the point to where it is felt unnecessary. Same thing with bio fuels. Big producers can flood the market with cheap oil even for a short time to drive interest in new products out the window.
